Building the Sales Engine

What exactly is a sales engine—and why does it matter more than ever in today’s market?

Building the Sales Engine is a strategic panel discussion focused on how modern sales organizations design, scale, and sustain revenue in an increasingly complex, AI-driven environment. As go-to-market motions evolve and buyer journeys become less linear, companies are discovering that better tools and more leads don’t automatically translate into better conversion.

This session explores what truly makes a sales engine effective—from aligning GTM strategy with a seamless customer journey, to closing the gap between lead generation and revenue outcomes. Panelists will break down the most common mistakes organizations make when building their sales function, and why many sales teams underperform despite access to advanced data, automation, and AI.

The discussion will also examine how the role of the salesperson is changing: what skills matter most in an AI-powered world, how trust and judgment remain critical, and where human expertise creates leverage that technology alone cannot.

Key themes include:

  • What defines a modern sales engine versus a traditional sales team
  • Designing an effective end-to-end customer journey from a GTM perspective
  • Why improved tools haven’t led to proportional gains in conversion
  • Common gaps and structural mistakes in sales engine design
  • How sales roles must evolve alongside AI and automation
  • The habits, systems, and culture that separate high-performing sales teams from the rest

Ideal for founders, revenue leaders, and sales professionals, Building the Sales Engine offers practical insight into building a repeatable, scalable system that drives consistent growth—not just pipeline activity.
